[0:00] This is the First Mustang Pulpit Podcast.! A podcast of the weekly preaching and teaching at First Mustang.! Thank you for joining us. If you would open your Bible with me to Psalm 130. [0:15] ! I've got several things coming up that I would love to have you praying with me and for me. [0:34] Anytime I have the chance to be outside of our church to minister, I always, as I tell you all the time, I want to represent the Lord well. I want to represent you well. And anytime I get a chance to do something, I always feel like I am very much just representing our congregation together. [0:52] Next weekend, we've got our marriage conference that we're very excited about. We've had a tremendous response to our sign-up for that. And so be praying for Jeff and I as we teach and lead that and others who will be a part of that weekend. [1:08] The following weekend, I'll be here on Sunday, but before Sunday, we'll be out of town preaching at a conference designed to help encourage people for how the church, what the church's role is in the mission of God going forward. [1:27] And so I'll be preaching there that weekend, be back here on Sunday. The following week, I will be out of town in Georgia doing some preaching at a church there along with a national ministry there. [1:42] So if the Lord brings that to your mind, I'd appreciate your prayers for that. The following week, our pastoral staff will be at Shepherds Conference. And I'll have a couple of things I'm doing there during Shepherds Conference during that week. [1:54] And then thrown in the middle there, we've got Ladies Night of Theology in two weeks. So it is a full, full month. But I'm doing what I love to do. [2:05] And I just want to be faithful to do it. I want to represent you well in these different areas the Lord opens for me to be. So pray for me. Pray for faithfulness as I teach. Pray for, as always, humility as I preach. [2:18] Pray for holiness in my life. And pray that I would be a faithful teacher in those venues. But most importantly to my life and to my heart is the time that we have here every Lord's Day to open our Bibles and to be able to hear from the Lord. [2:34] This is my favorite part of every week. To sit here and look at people I love with our Bibles open. As we say to the Lord, we are a needy people. [2:45] But we trust you to give us what we need. And so that's why this message these two weeks is called Helpful News for Hurting People. John texted me last night. [2:56] And he said, hey, remind me what the title for the sermon is tomorrow. And kind of true and kind of smart. Like I texted back, it's called Part 2. And he said, well, what was the title of Part 1? [3:10] And I said, let me look at it and find out. It's called, so I looked it up. It's Helpful News for Hurting People. He said, hopeful news, which I kind of like better, maybe. So we'll go with that. [3:20] Hopeful News for Hurting People. But we're in Psalm 130. Let's remind ourselves of what we studied last week and what we'll pick up on this week. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. [3:32] O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy. If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? [3:44] But with you there is forgiveness that you may be feared. I wait for the Lord. My soul waits. And in his word I hope. [3:55] My soul waits for the Lord more than watchman for the morning, more than watchman for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord. For with the Lord there is steadfast love. [4:09] And with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Four things I want us to consider from this passage. [4:23] The first two we looked at last week. We'll look at the second two this week. By way of review, last week we began with this. That there's a response that believers have to sin. The believer's response to sin was the first thing that we looked at. [4:38] And in that we consider two truths. One is that there is the reality of time spent in the depths. And two, when we are in the depths to be encouraged because God hears our cries. [4:52] Now, we understand there are different things that drive us to the depths. As we looked at last week, sometimes we're in the depths in times of sadness or even the feeling of despair because of the world we live in. [5:08] We live in a world filled with sin and filled with rebellion. And sometimes it's just the world we live in that just becomes very heavy for us to carry. [5:19] And it can drive us into the depths. Sometimes we're in the depths because of something that's happened specifically to us. Maybe a disease or the death of a loved one or the loss of a job or a friendship or relationship that's been broken. [5:37] Sometimes it's something very personal that's happened to us. Sometimes what can drive us to the midst of despair is our own sin. Our own awareness of our shortcomings and our failures. [5:52] Or maybe we live in a season of rebellion against the Lord. Or perhaps we're still in the Word, still coming to church, even taking notes on a Sunday morning. [6:04] But we're not living faithfully. And I will tell you this, that if you try to live your life in this way of trying to pretend to follow the Lord, but in your heart rebelling against the Lord, you will find yourself in the depths. [6:22] And so in Psalm 130, it's this realization that all these different things can drive us to the place of the depths. But what seems to be happening in Psalm 130 is something to do with the psalmist's own sin because he's going to mention the glory and the beauty and the joy, specifically, of God's forgiveness of his people. [6:48] And what I want you to understand is when you find yourself in the depths of despair, the right response, no matter what has driven you there, is always to call out to the Lord. [7:02] To run to him. To flee to him through the study of his Word. To flee to him through gathering with worship with God's people. [7:13] To cling to him through times of prayer. Not because you're going to understand everything. Not because the why question is always going to be fully answered for you. [7:24] But because you know that the safest place to be in any storm is right near your Heavenly Father. So whether it be the result of cancer or divorce or death. [7:40] Whether it be the result of sin. Whatever it is that has cast you into the pit. The believer's response to our condition is always that we are to call out to the Lord. [7:56] To cling to him and his Word and to gather with his people. And the good news of verse 2 is that the psalmist cries out to the Lord. [8:07] And as he prays, Lord be attentive to my voice. We can know that the Lord hears our prayers. The second thing we looked at last week was the Lord's response to our repentance. [8:23] And there's two elements when we think of how does the Lord deal with the sin of his people. There is bad news and there is gospel good news. [8:34] The bad news is verse 3. If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, who could stand? The bad news is all of us, based on our own sin, would have no hope. [8:48] The gospel good news is verse 4. But with you there is forgiveness that you may be feared. There are some helpful things with the language and the wording in the original text that we looked at last Sunday. [9:06] I won't, I won't re-preach all of that. But just, just understand that the psalmist is calling out to the Lord. Understanding the Lord is both Yahweh, the God who is near. [9:18] The God who is known. And he's also the God who is powerful. And the God who is in control. We see that even in the different words used for the word Lord in verse 1 and verse 2. [9:30] Verse 3, we looked last week at what it means to mark iniquities. The Lord does not watch over, guard our iniquities in the sense of we are always connected to them. [9:41] Psalm 103 says that our sin is removed from us as far as the east is from the west. And beloved, that is gospel good news. [9:56] That our sin can be forgiven. That he hears when his people call out for mercy. Before we go to the third point, let's just consider this good news of God's forgiveness a little longer. [10:15] Verse 4, but with you there is forgiveness. With you there is forgiveness. I want you to make note of these three words. [10:28] I hope they'll be memorable for you and words that you can quickly in just a moment today commit to memory and never forget these three words. When we think about God's forgiveness, anytime you think of God's forgiveness for his people as we have repented and turned to him. [10:47] I want you to think of these three elements of God's forgiveness. One is that his forgiveness is full. It covers all of our sin. One, two, his forgiveness is fast. [11:02] It's immediate. You don't earn it. You don't work for it. You don't get busy trying to achieve it. God's grace, his forgiveness is full. [11:14] It's all of your sin. It's fast. It's immediate. And it's forever. When you think of the depth of God's forgiveness for his people, I want you to understand it is full, it is fast, and it is forever. [11:32] If it were not all three of those things, there would be no hope, even with forgiveness. If his forgiveness was only in part, then what do we do with the part that's not covered? [11:45] The great hymn says, My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought. My sin, not in part, but the whole, was nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more. [12:03] If God's forgiveness were partial, we would be completely undone. But praise God, his forgiveness is full. His forgiveness is fast. [12:16] It's immediate. If it wasn't immediate, if all his forgiveness did was buy us time to eventually earn his forgiveness, we would be completely undone because we can never be good enough to earn it. [12:31] The problem isn't that you need more time to earn it. The problem is with every passing day, we store up more and more and more sin. If his sin is not immediate, if all it is is giving you more time to earn it, there would be no hope whatsoever. [12:52] But his forgiveness is not only full and fast, it's forever. And if it wasn't forever, we would have no hope. If his forgiveness was only temporary. [13:05] If he forgave you of your sin today, but tomorrow were to bring it back up against you, who could stand? [13:16] Understand that one act of sin against a holy God is sufficient to warrant eternal judgment. [13:30] Which is why it's so amazing that the Bible teaches us that his forgiveness is full, covering all of our sin. [13:42] Fast. It's immediately granted. And it's forever. So that as Romans 8 says, there is now, because of the work of Christ on the cross, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. [13:57] This is gospel good news. Look at the end of verse 4. With you there is forgiveness that you may be feared. [14:13] In other words, the result of the gospel, the result of our forgiveness, isn't only that we escape hell and are granted the gift of heaven. [14:23] The result of our forgiveness is worship. He forgives us so that we fear him, worship him, give him reverence, give him respect, stand in awe of him, are completely amazed by his grace. [14:41] Part of the problem for believers isn't that we don't always ask for forgiveness. Part of the problem is that when we do ask for forgiveness, we fail to let that drive us to worship. [14:52] But that's exactly how it should be. That as he forgives you of your sin, you have all new reasons to stand in awe of the Lord. [15:05] It is unfathomable that people could come and gather for worship and sing of God's grace and his forgiveness and his mercy and we just kind of walk through it unfazed, unmoved, disinterested. [15:26] That should never be true, friends. Because there is forgiveness with the Lord, we worship him. [15:37] There should be a sense in your heart where Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, you get a little antsy because you just can't wait to gather with God's people and give him the praise he deserves. [15:53] Obviously, you don't have to wait till Sunday to worship. Obviously, there's a sense of which we should be worshiping and praising and thanking God all week long, of course. But this is a unique day. [16:04] The Lord's day is a special day. This is a day the Lord has given us to gather with his people to say, we are a bunch of sinners. Why in the world are we joyful? [16:16] Why aren't we afraid? Why aren't we completely undone? Because with you, there is forgiveness. And because we know that truth, it drives us to be a people of worship. [16:31] Friends, don't ever let the gospel become old news to you. Don't ever let the gift of the Lord's day become a burdensome thing to you. [16:44] This is a gift. This is a joy. This is a delight. We are sinners deserving of wrath and judgment who instead have been set free, forgiven, called his own, promised the glories of heaven. [17:05] So when you think of your own forgiveness, let it be the response of your heart to say, I've got even more reasons to sing a song, even more reasons to rejoice as I study my Bible. [17:17] His forgiveness is to drive us and compel us to be people of worship. What does it mean to fear the Lord in verse 4? [17:28] This is not the trembling of a guilty man standing before a judge waiting to be sentenced. This is the trembling of a man who has been forgiven and set free and stands in the presence of the very one who has paid our price and declared us forever, forever his own. [18:01] This is the trembling of worship. This is the trembling of amazement. This is the trembling of revival. That we are not undone by the presence of the Lord because grace has covered us and because grace has covered us, we boldly, without shame, enter into the presence of God. [18:30] Now, I know how our enemy works and even right now in some of your hearts and minds, you've got these voices saying, but what about this thing I did? [18:43] Yeah, but what about this sin I committed? Yeah, but what about this season of my life? Let me remind you when we repent, God's grace is full, it is fast, and it is forever. [18:58] And you say, yeah, but pastor, you don't know about everything I did and you're right, I don't. But the one who has forgiven you does and with him there is forgiveness. [19:13] That's the promise of verse four. God's people should rest and God's people should rejoice. There's a third thing I want you to see from Psalm 130 and that is the believer's response to his own heart. [19:29] The response to our sin is repentance. The Lord's response to our repentance is forgiveness. Third, the believer's response to his own heart. What do we do while we are longing for the Lord to fix a situation? [19:49] We're waiting for the Lord to restore a situation. Maybe it's Psalm 51, restore to me the joy of my salvation. It's not that salvation is lost, but the joy can sometimes ebb and flow. [20:07] Maybe you're waiting for the Lord to restore a situation not the result of sin, just the result of life. We live in a fallen world and hard things happen. [20:19] What do you do? What's your response to your own heart? So you've confessed your sin, the Lord's forgiven you, but you still find yourself with the struggles and the pains of life. [20:36] That's true for all of us. What do we do? How do we speak to our own heart while we are needing the Lord to come through for us? Verse 5, I wait for the Lord. [20:53] My soul waits. And in His word, I hope. God's people are awaiting people. [21:16] God does not remove every pain from our life instantly. His forgiveness is immediate, but the way that we walk through trials may not be immediate. [21:27] that the pain, the thorn in the flesh, so to speak, may not be removed immediately. What do you do while you're still in the storm? You've confessed your sin, the Lord's forgiven you of your sin, but you're still in the storm, you're still in the pain, you're still in the grief, you're still in the frustration. [21:44] Well, we wait on Him and we hope in Him. Wait on the Lord. Wait on the Lord to make things right. [21:58] Wait on the Lord's timing to answer your prayer. Wait on the Lord to show you His will and His direction. [22:11] And this is hard, admittedly, because so many times we think to ourself, God, why don't you just fix this and fix it now? Why don't you just remove this and remove it now? [22:23] Why don't you just deal with them and deal with them now? But in faith, we wait. [22:34] And we remind ourself every day that while we're waiting, we're trusting in Him. His provision, His timing, His wisdom. [22:50] and when you say, but I just don't understand why God is doing it this way, just remind yourself as our choir has sung for us, He is God and we are not. [23:07] And I know you think you know better and there's times I think I know better, but can we just remind ourself our knowledge is so limited. [23:18] we trust Him. And while we are waiting, we're hoping in Him. [23:32] My soul waits and in His word I hope. And what does it mean, verse 6, my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen in the morning, more than the watchmen in the morning? [23:49] Well, the watchman has a shift. He's in charge with looking over an area. And so, in the language of Psalm 130, in that day, you've got watchmen who are appointed and their job is to look out. [24:03] They're looking out over the city and they're making sure that things are safe, making sure that things are where they're supposed to be. And that watchman's job is to wait and that watchman's job is to look. [24:17] And the focus changes now from what God does not do, which is verse 3, He does not mark our iniquities. I told you last week, the word mark, same root word as in verse 6, the watching, same root. [24:34] So, the Lord, if He were to watch over our sin, protect our sin in the sense of never removing it from you, you would have no hope. But that's what the Lord does not do. [24:47] He does not mark your sin when it's been repented and it changes to what we must do, which is watch for the Lord. The Lord does not guard your sin, He removes it from you when you confess, and what we must do is then watch for Him, be a watchman for Him, be looking to Him, considering Him, beholding Him. [25:17] My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchman in the morning. Now, if you were a literal watchman in that day, you've got shifts. You've got men who would have a certain shift where they would look out as the watchman and if you were the watchman in the night, your job is to keep watch over your area to make sure that the people are safe. [25:41] And if you were the watchman in the night, when the sun comes up, that lets you know that your shift is ending and you can return to your rest. [25:51] my soul waits for the Lord more than the watchman for the morning. [26:03] For the watchman at night, when the sun comes up, he knows he's completed his task. He's done what he was supposed to do. And now he can rest from his work. [26:16] Then the psalmist says, I'm waiting for the Lord more than that watchman is waiting for the sun to come up. Meaning, I long for you. [26:26] I desire you. I am eager for you even more than the person who's ready to get off his shift from work. [26:41] There's different kinds of jobs. I've had the kind of job before where I watch the clock and can't wait for it to end. I'm thankful that's not my life today. My life today is much more of I see what time it is in the afternoon and I can't believe it's already the end of the day. [26:59] I've had the other kinds of jobs. I worked at Brahms. Some of our kids know. That was my first paying job. $3.11 an hour right in my pocket. I've been a busboy. [27:12] I've been a telemarketer. I've paid my dues. I've had jobs where I would just long to see it was the end of the shift. [27:25] No more magazine renewal phone calls at Dial America. Amen, Marcy? We were dating. We worked at Dial America. We would drive to work. No exaggeration. [27:37] She would be in the car crying. Literally. She hated the job that much. And we would go to work and just long for the shift to end. [27:49] When I was a busboy, I would go to work, clean up after nasty people and just couldn't wait for the shift to end. And the psalmist says, I desire the Lord. [28:07] I'm waiting for Him. I'm hoping in Him. I'm relying on Him. I long for the Lord more than the watchman longs for the morning. [28:17] That hard, long night, sometimes laborious and boring and monotonous, just looking, just watching. [28:31] And when the sun comes up, I'm free. The shift is over. More than that. I long for the Lord. [28:44] And it's not just the shift to be over because when the sun rises, it also is confirmation for the watchman that everything is safe. [28:56] If anything happened during the darkness of night that the watchman missed, when the sun rises, it would reveal that. And the psalmist is able to say that for the watchman, when the sun rises, not only is it the end of the work, the end of the shift, but it's confirmation of safety. [29:14] It's confirmation of peace. The sun has risen and it did not reveal anything that I missed. More than the watchman longs for that. [29:29] The psalmist says, I long for the Lord. I'm waiting for the Lord. I'm watching for the Lord. [29:39] I'm watching for the Lord. The Lord is our rest. The Lord is our rescue. My soul waits. [29:52] To wait for the Lord is to hope in Him. It's to trust in Him. It's to rely on Him. You may be waiting for you for your family financially. [30:18] You may be waiting on the Lord today to provide a friend. You may be waiting on the Lord today to alleviate your loneliness. you may be waiting on the Lord today to alleviate the pain of your sin or the pain of what someone has done to you in a sinful way and the psalmist says if you could think of a watchman longing for the sun to rise to let him know his work is completed he's finished the task there is safety there is rest there is peace even more than that my soul waits for the Lord and we wait in faith we wait together I mean if we could do it this morning if I could have every person in this sanctuary speak verbally of something you're waiting for the Lord to do needing the Lord to do and I were to read every single one of them hundreds and hundreds of requests and needs can you imagine how overwhelming that would feel? [31:36] I mean you know the needs of your heart you know the needs of your family and sometimes that by itself feels like enough what if you knew the needs of everyone in here? [31:53] that's why we gather together to wait together to wait in faith to wait with trust and brothers and sisters be encouraged to know you're not the only one this morning who's waiting on the Lord and relying on the Lord now it's true your unique circumstances may be unique to you but the condition of needing the Lord and crying out to the Lord and desperately clinging to the Lord that's not unique to you that's true for all of God's people that's why we gather here as a family that's why we sing together and that's why we read the word together that's why we study together because we are all needing the Lord to come through for us and again I know how the enemy works he wants to convince you that you're the only one with a problem today you're the only one with a need you're the only one whose marriage is on the rocks you're the only one whose kids are wayward you're the only one whose body is breaking down you're the only one who feels alone and isolated that's how the enemy wants you to think but just look around the room today and be reminded we are all waiting on the Lord together all in need together and how do we speak to our own soul as we do that? [33:20] we remind ourselves to wait and to hope in Him when the Bible speaks of hoping in the Lord in His word I hope verse 5 says this isn't wishful thinking this is a settled confidence this is a settled confidence I'm hoping in His word I'm not wishing it's true I'm not crossing my fingers that it may be true I am living with a settled confidence this is true this is right God can be trusted and while you have confessed your sin and the Lord has forgiven you and now with a pure heart you have to continue to navigate the storms of life we do it by waiting on Him and with settled confidence hoping in Him [34:26] I want to show you one more thing here from this chapter and that is the believer's response to others the believer's response to sin is to confess it number two the Lord's response to our repentance is to forgive us number three the believer's response to His own heart is to wait and to hope and then fourthly the believer's response to others what do we do as it relates to other people in the midst of our trials and sorrow verse 7 O Israel hope in the Lord for with the Lord there is steadfast love and with Him is plentiful redemption this is the psalmist speaking to the nation he's dealt with his own sin he's been forgiven he's been strengthened now he turns to others and he says to the nation [35:29] O Israel put your hope in the Lord take it from someone who has sinned and been forgiven there is forgiveness with God take it from someone he says who has been in the depths of despair God is there to meet you this is the psalmist turning his trials into a message and his message to the nation has these three elements hope love and redemption his message is hope in the Lord because the Lord is full of steadfast love and there is plentiful redemption the psalmist has felt the sting of his own sin the psalmist has experienced what it's like to be in the depths and now he's been forgiven his joy has been renewed his faith has been strengthened and the psalmist now does what so few of us remember and that is to use our hardest days as a way to call other people to trust in the Lord the psalmist says [36:59] Israel hope in the Lord he wants others to experience what he's experienced he wants others to know what he has come to find out that you can trust the Lord I fear that sometimes in the church people are so guarded with their life and so guarded with their struggles that there can sometimes in any church be this this pressure this tendency to try to pretend like life is so perfect and our families are so perfect and the result of that is everybody around us thinks they're the only one with problems that's not true the New Testament says that we're to comfort others with the comfort we ourselves have been comforted with so when you go through trials it's not just about you surviving it it's about you using what God teaches you and shows you in those trials so you can call on other people to experience the same forgiveness and freedom that you have found oh Israel hope in the Lord look at the next phrase for with the [38:19] Lord there is steadfast love chesed God's covenantal unconditional loyal love hope in the Lord because the Lord is full of love he's full of mercy we know a part of how merciful God's heart is but just a part our minds can't even fathom how much the Lord loves us I was thinking of this text just knowing that it's what we're looking at this this [39:19] Sunday morning and a couple of times this week Mars and I had the privilege to have our grandkids at our house and I had at different times each of my grandkids and I was holding each of them one on one and I was thinking of this verse and thinking to myself these babies I hope feel already a sense of security with us but their little minds! [39:45] Can't comprehend how much I would do for them in an instant if! If these little grandbabies of ours could speak yet they have no idea what I would do for them how much I would give them they can't even fathom how much I would say yes it's yours whatever you want because my love for my grandkids and my willingness to give to my grandkids is so much greater than their minds can comprehend and I thought to myself this week while was holding thinking of that thought how infinitely even more true that is for me and the Lord his grace is so much greater than I even know his mercy so much full that I can even fathom [40:45] I know in part but one day we'll know in whole and we're going to be amazed at how infinite his grace truly is and the psalmist says Israel I want you to hope in the Lord because with the Lord there is stead fast love and there is look at the end of verse seven plentiful redemption I love that phrase not just redemption there's plentiful redemption God is not stingy with his mercy there is plentiful! [41:32] redemption he's not stingy with his grace he gives freely now we need plentiful redemption because we are guilty of plentiful sin amen can we agree to that we don't just have a little sin we have a lot of sin more sin than we realize that would be the worst thing ever if not for the truth that in him is plentiful redemption it's not limited his grace is full immense and free Richard Sibbes in his book the bruised reed said we have this for a foundational truth that there is more mercy in Christ than sin in us it's amazing more mercy in [42:39] Christ than sin in us and so the psalmist who has had to deal with his own sin and deal with the depths of despair has experienced forgiveness waiting in the Lord hoping in the Lord and then turns his attention to others and calls on the people to hope in God to rest in his plentiful love and his plentiful redemption so just think of where you are in Psalm 130 some of you are right now you're in the depths you feel heavy hearted you feel burdened you feel overwhelmed you feel discouraged you feel defeated if that's where you are call out to the [43:40] Lord the Lord meets his people right where they are and if in Psalm 130 you're in the place of of sin and you know that you've been living in disobedience and what do you do you repent confess your sin to the Lord and if you've done that and you're just you find yourself in Psalm 130 at the place of waiting you trust in the Lord you've confessed your sin but you're just waiting on the Lord to answer waiting on the Lord to come through waiting on the Lord to provide then here's what you do you put your settled confidence in him and you wait eagerly wait eagerly patiently faithfully wait I don't know God when you're going to provide this for me! [44:35] but I'm going to trust you while I'm waiting I don't know God when you're going to bring a spouse to my life I'm praying for that but I'm going to faithfully trust you while I'm waiting I don't know what the medical answers are going to be but I'm going to patiently faithfully trust you while I'm waiting and if you find yourself in Psalm 130 that you've been lifted up of the pits of despair you have confessed your sin and been forgiven and now you find yourself having passed through the storm passed through the trial then what you need to make sure you do is use your life as as a megaphone! [45:22] to summon those in your life to hope in the Lord and to trust in Him and I get the temptation to say don't really want to share my business don't really want to tell people what I've been through don't really want to tell people the sorrow I've walked through but scripture says it's our responsibility to comfort each other with the comfort that we received for every sorrow you've walked through is a testimony of the faithfulness of God tell it declare it our responsibility is not to protect our name it's to glorify [46:27] His name and if you're going through life in any way trying to convince people that you always have it all together and your family always has it all together you're just going to end up exhausted and frustrated so what you've been through let your life and your voice summons those around you to say come and behold the Lord hope in Him there is steadfast love with the Lord and you will find plentiful! [47:04] Redemption! And when the enemy threatens you to say yeah but you've sinned a whole lot let your response be there is more mercy in Christ than there is sin in me and in that I hope I trust and we'll wait together for the Lord to see us through! [47:40] Our God we need your word we love your word I pray that today it's been helpful I pray that we have been encouraged as we have set our hearts and minds upon the truthfulness of your love and your grace we pray in Christ's name Amen if you have a question of how to know Christ as Savior or a question of how to deal with your sin or a question of how to walk with God or how to help others walk with God you can use that connection card on the back of it just let us know your need let us know your prayer request let us know how we can help you drop that in one of the giving box on the way out we would love to be able to serve you in that way I hope that you have a great week let this be a week where we make much of Jesus Christ in our homes and much of Christ wherever we go remember we've got a new memory verse in February it's listed there in your bulletin right above the worship order be reading that meditating on that memorizing that let's continue to hide [48:47] God's word in our heart that we may not sin against him love you church God bless you you dismissed thank you so much for joining us via live stream this morning if you have any questions whatsoever about our church or the ministries that our church provides please visit us at fbcmustang.org we would love to follow up with you and get to know you better as always we try to emphasize if at all possible if you could be here physically present with us we would love that and that would be a joy to serve you in that way but thank you again for joining us via live stream today have a great day!
